Daily Aidan

Today, Aidan got to meet his new friend, baby Tori.

He thought her car seat buttons were pretty cool. He also liked comparing the size of his hands versus hers, and tried his best to swipe the pink lovey blanket we gave her.

Hooray for baby Tori - we loved seeing you and your Mommy today!

While at the mall today, a lady approached Aaron and asked if Aidan could be a model for Picture People. Never ones to turn down shameless promotion of our handsome little guy, we shrugged our shoulders and said "OKAY!" We got this free 8x10 out of the deal, and ordered our Easter cards while we were at it. They were already printing the pictures to display in the store when we were leaving, so if you're at Oak Park Mall soon, drop by Picture People and admire our cute model!

Aidan had a big day today. He loved playing with the recycling truck he got for Valentine's Day...

he got a haircut...

and we converted his high chair into a booster seat. What a big boy!

Monthly Aidan

At 20 months, Aidan:
-says about 50 words, and is speaking and signing two words at a time
-wears 18 month pants and 24 month or 2T shirts; size 6 shoes; size 4 diapers
-wants to be covered up with his sheep blanket to sleep
-goes to PDO twice a week, Kindermusik once a week
-loves it when Mommy sings to him
-has started doing hand motions to "Itsy Bitsy Spider"
-is an avid reader. Favorite books include Ollie the Stomper, Barnyard Dance, and his Elmo Halloween book with the doorbell sounds
-pretends a lot, especially talking on the phone
-is learning about time-outs. Typically he earns them for hitting. Yuck.
-is extremely curious. Enjoys pointing at letters and numbers and asks us to tell him what they are
-will watch TV for a few minutes at a time; favorite shows include Dinosaur Train and Elmo's World
-is still obsessed with the vacuum, American flag, Jayhawks, and basketball
-is the president of Grandpa P's fan club, and vice versa
-likes to read magazines
-has an infectious laugh
-is a great eater. He typically eats one large meal a day and won't eat much the other times, but still isn't picky and loves all of his fruits and vegetables.
-sleeps 8pm-7am (give or take 1/2 hour) and takes one afternoon nap
-has a mom who's having a hard time dealing with having an "almost" 2-year-old...

Multi-tasking: riding the horse, flipping on the switch, and using the popcorn popper all at the same time. Imagine how productive he'll be in board meetings someday.

Today we went with our friends Nathan and Jenn to the Parents as Teachers playgroup. Aidan had a blast, especially since they had vacuums:)

Later, Aidan tried on his Daddy's new Ryne Sandberg t-shirt. It was an early b-day present from Grandma and Grandpa P.

We've been housesitting for the past few days, and one of Aidan's favorite places to sit is on Max the Wonder Dog's bed. He's gone from saying "woof" to "MAX!" which has been super cool to hear:)
