A note from Aggie

Dear Earthlings,

I have grown tired of composing my journal entries and dealing with the ever-growing curious "baby" that has taken over my domain. My escape plan is now complete, as I have been working on it for a while now. I have invented a condition called a "brain tumor" and figured out how to stop eating and drinking, knowing I am promised a better life involving unlimited warmed salmon fed by spoon, spaghetti sauce, gravy, and post-it notes and pens to bat around.
It has been my unique pleasure to be acquainted with you, and I hope to see you again in another life.
Very Truly Yours,
Agatha Helen Pennington

Pumpkin Patch 2008

From October 12...
We had so much fun at the Powell Pumpkin Patch. It was way far away - down by Louisburg - but it was a beautiful fall afternoon and we had so much fun picking out pumpkins for each of us (even Aggie!)
Funny story, we got there and realized we had no cash, no checkbook, only debit cards. I got out of the car to ask if they accepted debit cards and the lady working just laughed and said "We don't have electricity out here!" I let her know we'd just driven 45 minutes and were very excited to visit, and she said "Just give me your address, I'll give you my address, and we'll catch up. Pick out whatever you'd like and take it home." Do you know anyone who would do that for a complete stranger? What a blessing! We are going to make this trip an annual tradition!

First Vegetables

We've been trying vegetables at our house. It's been super fun to make Aidan's food and puree it. I'm buying organic jarred carrots because of the danger of nitrates, but everything else has been homemade. Here's the track record so far:

11/25/08: Carrots. Took a bite, stopped cold, then belly laughed and lunged forward with his mouth open. He LOVES his carrots! We do not love that the contents of his diapers now look like said carrots. The contents do not smell the same as said carrots!

11/29/08: Green beans. Refuses to eat them. He is definitely related to me. Anyway, he spits them out. If I mix the green beans with cereal, he will swallow the cereal and spit out the green beans. We'll keep trying!

12/1/08: Peas. He made the same disgusted face as the green beans but ate everything I gave him. We have high hopes for peas!

Soon we're going to try sweet potatoes and avocados. We'll keep you posted!
