Now that he can sit up, Aidan has a front-row seat on our kitchen counter to watch KU games. The tunnelvision has already begun!

Aidan loves to read - tonight's selection was Goodnight Moon.
He has figured out how to turn the pages, and that is proving to be more fun than looking at the pictures or hearing the stories. He also thinks that the pages taste awfully good!

Mr. Independent loves to play by himself. Many times when he's grumpy, all we need to do is lay or sit him down somewhere alone, and he cheers right up. He comes by it honestly! :)

Multi-Piano Rehearsals

Today was the day for our Multi-Piano rehearsals.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the event, it is a concert at KU in Lawrence each year, sponsored by the Kansas City Music Teachers Association. About 500 local students and teachers are involved in this amazing event that places 18 grand pianos and 36 people on stage at a time. We all play duets together under the direction of a conductor. Because I love duets so much, this event is near and dear to my heart. I have been on the repertoire committee for several years, and this year am in charge of the event. (I know. Tell me I need to add something ELSE to my plate!) Anyway, I spent 12 hours at the Toon Shop in Prairie Village and this was what it looked like!

If you're interested in attending, the concerts are Sunday, February 15 at 2:00 and 4:00pm at the Lied Center. Tickets (general admission) are $5. Hope to see you there!

Aidan has recently discovered that there are actually TAGS on his Taggie PJs, and can be entertained for hours.

So speaking of PJs. You may notice that Aidan is wearing his in a LOT of the pictures I take. Let's just say I am obsessed with PJs. Especially from here and here and OMG here.
I personally would never take my PJs off if I had my choice. So Satan, if you're reading, you REALLY shouldn't have invented such cutie cute baby PJs. 'Cause I can't stop buying them:)

Today the boys and I went to Royals Fan Fest at the OP Convention Center. We had a lot of fun, and it was the perfect excuse to break out Aidan's Royals jersey and matching tennis shoes. Aidan got to meet his future boss Trey Hillman and future teammates Ryan Shealy and Kila Ka'aihue.
Aidan is also the newest member of the Blue Crew and is looking forward to his first Royals game very soon!

Monthly Aidan

At seven months, Aidan:
-sits up by himself
-thinks his feet are hilarious
-doesn't mind his car seat at all, but he's about to outgrow it!
-holds things with his hands and feet
-nurses four times a day and has two solid food meals a day
-prefers standing over sitting
-drinks from a sippy cup
-can hold his own bottle
-sleeps about 11 hours each night
-takes 3 naps each day, and they can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours long
-loves peekaboo and looking in the mirror
-enjoys yogurt, oatmeal, pears, bananas, avocado, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, and apples, and is still not a fan of green beans
-still has two teeth
-puts himself to sleep, swaddled with a lovey
-is incredibly happy lying on his changing table
-is a true joy!

I'm having one of those days. Ever have them?
Yesterday I got a million things done. Aidan napped like a champ. All was right with the world.
Today? Today I have so much to do, I can't see straight. Aidan's not sleeping. I have so much to do, I don't know where to start. I have so much to do, I will probably not get anything done. Except maybe cry.

Today, Aidan sat in his big boy car seat for the first time. I think he's going to like it more than his carrier car seat! We have a bit longer before he outgrows his current one, but we're excited to have this one ready.


Today was also the first time Aidan tried yogurt. At first he gave us a look like "WHAT are you feeding me?" but he ended up eating the entire 4oz container, plus sweet potatoes!

Aidan spent some time with Grammy today while Mommy went to the Yarn Barn and Sarah's Fabrics in Lawrence with Miss Heather and her mom, Janis. He took two LONG naps and had a great time!
